Job Description – Accounting / Controller

Position Profile:
We are seeking a professional in Accounting to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will support the senior accounting staff in ensuring the integrity and accuracy of financial operations. This entry-level role is perfect for recent graduates or individuals looking to gain valuable experience in the field of accounting.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- General Ledger Maintenance: Assist in maintaining the general ledger by posting and processing journal entries to ensure all business transactions are recorded.
- Accounts Payable and Receivable: Manage and process accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
- Bank Reconciliations: Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy in cash balances and resolve discrepancies.
- Financial Reporting: Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports.
- Expense Tracking: Monitor and record company expenses and ensure they are in line with the company’s policies and budget.
- Invoicing: Generate and distribute invoices to clients and follow up on overdue payments.
- Data Entry: Enter financial data into accounting software, ensuring accuracy and up-to-date records.
- Audit Support: Assist in the preparation of documents and schedules for external audits.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with financial policies, procedures, and regulations.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and organized financial records, files, and documentation.
- Ad-Hoc Tasks: Perform other accounting duties as assigned by senior accounting staff.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or experience equivalent.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Xero) and Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge: Basic understanding of accounting principles and practices (GAAP or IFRS).
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy in work.
- Organizational Skills: Good organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
